ESB’s MIM Class‘ Excursion to Munich, 19th & 20th April

On 19th April the ESB MIM class with Prof. Dr. Niamh O’M ahony, MIM Programme Director, and Julie Scheetz, MIM Programme Administrator, headed off to Munich for a two day excursion which took in German culture and visits to companies.

On the Thursday evening the students were given a tour around the Erdinger brewery, the world’s largest wheat beer brewery and one of Germany’s largest private breweries. Apart from being mesmerized by the speed at which the bottles of beer were filled by the automated machines, a definite highlight was the traditional pretzel and Weißwurst (white sausage) meal after the tour in the brewery’s cosy traditional restaurant, where the students could try as many of the different beers as they wanted.

Early Friday morning the group then headed to Michael Page International in the centre of Munich. Here Constantin Schröder, a MIM alumnus (Class of 2010) and Senior Consultant with Michael Page Finance & Accounting, gave a very interesting presentation on Michael Page which included an overview of the com-pany’s operations, an insight into working for Michael Page as well as useful tips for effective job interviews.
