Reutlingen University has achieved excellent results in the CHE university ranking and is once again one of the leading universities for applied sciences in Germany, particularly in the bachelors’ degree courses in business studies, business engineering and business informatics. Ranking their courses highly in all areas of teaching and study were students of business studies at the ESB Business School. The field of business engineering improved tremendously, moving up into top positions in numerous categories. Business engineering at the School of Engineering also scored excellent results. The business studies programme at the School of Textiles and Design and the business informatics degree at the School of Informatics were also able to boast good results.
Students at Reutlingen University were very satisfied with their studies in all the respective categories reviewed. In particular, the connections to professional work experience once again consistently achieved top rankings. General conditions of study and the practical relevance of teaching also scored highly among Reutlingen students.
ESB Business School's business programmes are also distinguished by particularly positive reviews in the area of international orientation, as well as the overall organisation of and the respective support given to students throughout their study period. This ties in seamlessly with the very solid results of the previous CHE ranking from 2017.
"The strengths of ESB Business School are reflected in the CHE rankings," announces Prof. Dr. Christoph Binder, Dean of ESB Business School. "International orientation, small group sizes, all-encompassing supervision and a strong network linking professional work experience, lecturers and the student body. This is what ESB stands for and this is clearly echoed in the ranking data".
Students in the field of business engineering ranked a total of ten out of thirteen categories above average. ESB Business School was rated top in the areas of ‘range of courses on offer’, ‘study abroad possibilities’, ‘feasibility of study’ and ‘practical relevance’, thus improving strongly compared to the CHE Ranking in 2017. Prof. Dr. Christoph Binder also sees the positive results as a mandate for ESB Business School to continue on its journey: "The fact that we were actually able to improve on our very good results once again is important confirmation of our work and an incentive for the future. Together we will continue to ensure that our students can study at ESB Business School under the best possible conditions from enrolment right through to graduation".

The CHE University Ranking
The CHE university ranking is the most comprehensive and detailed comparison of universities in the German-speaking world. Around 120,000 students at 300 universities and universities of applied sciences take part. In addition to the information provided by the students on their study conditions, criteria such as student support, the range of courses offered, how well the programmes are organised and the standard of facilities and equipment available to enhance student learning, CHE also collects data on teaching and research, which is also included in the ranking results. The CHE university ranking can be downloaded now from ZEIT CAMPUS ONLINE: www.zeit.de/che-ranking
Additionally, excerpts of the university ranking results by the Centre for Higher Education Development (CHE) will be published in the ZEIT Studienführer (study guide) on 5 May 2020. One third of the subject areas are reassessed yearly. This year business studies, economics, business sciences, business informatics, business engineering, business law, social work, law and business psychology have been comprehensively reviewed.
